BOBBY BELL

BIOGRAPHY

"Guitar virtuoso and troubadour squeezes out twangy, blues-affected notes and funkophile-pleasing chords while musing on love, life, and the world." -- Michael Ansaldo

At legendary Boston club The Sugar Shack, Bobby Bell learned music from James Brown, Roberta Flack, Donny Hathaway, and Eddie Hazel of Parliament/Funkadelic. It was here that he got a chance to play for Patti LaBelle and Jeff Beck. His musical performance so impressed Patti LaBelle's band that they asked him to join their band in Philadelphia six months later. Today an accomplished guitar player and charismatic stage performer, Bobby Bell has captivated audiences with his music ever since.

The blues music of Bobby can be heard on his most recent album, 'Bout Time. He is a veteran of the Greenwich Village music scene in New York City. He plays regularly at hot spots including The Village Underground, Terra Blues, The Bitter End, The Groove Club 101, and legendary Cafe Wha. Bobby also plays blues with his band, The Bell System. He is currently on tour with Gloria Gaylor and plays alongside world-class musicians like Chaka Khan and Jimmy Vivino during weekly shows at The Groove Club.
